Our Story

How it all started...

Gentle Hands was established on Feb.22,2002. We met in a home in Farmerville, Louisiana for "Rebuilding the Walls" bible study for approximately three weeks.  We acquired a lease on Jake's Camp at the D'Arbonne Lake Motel. Our first worship service was on March 4, 2002 with 45 people in attendance. On the following Sunday 80 people were in attendance. We purchased 19 acres of land on October 11, 2002.  May 2005, we started construction on Gentle Hands church facility. June 2006,  we held our first worship service in our new facility.

Who We Are

Gentle Hands Ministries (GHM) is a place of love and acceptance. No one is too different to join our family. GHM has such a loving atmosphere. Located in the middle of Farmerville, we have the perfect location to gather everyone from all walks of life. We are here to build up, support, and encourage each other. The central objective of the Ministry is to build people of Purpose, Prayer, Power, Praise and Prosperity. A church for all people. A family church meeting family needs. This mandate is being fulfilled by teaching the reality of the gospel in a simplistic fashion, and as a result we are learning how to apply it to our everyday living. Our goal is to teach God’s Holy Word in an uncompromised fashion so that purposes can be revealed and destiny's fulfilled.
God gave Pastor Butler a vision to build a distinctively different church in this city, where people would be taught and given an example of holiness, excellence, character, and integrity. This born-again and Spirit-filled church is to have an emphasis on building men and women with a God-conscience so that they function as individuals, husbands, wives and parents in a manner that glorifies God and impacts this generation.
Our goal is to reach the hurting and the lost with the message of faith and a loving touch to help men and women overcome challenges in life. Our goal is to minister to the whole man so that he can be a light to the whole world.

Where we are headed...

In 2022,
The Lord gave Pastor Butler a vision about expanding GHM to a 2nd location. His hometown Monroe, Louisiana. On November 20th, Pastor Butler signed a contract with the Monroe Civic Center.  GHM launched their second location on Sunday, January 8th, 2023.  We believe that we will see the goodness of God here in the city of Monroe.
